Crazy Week Done

Phew!

Ya know, just your average “Are you kidding me” kind of week. Between teeth cleanings for the whole family… which led to PR31 having an unexpected dental surgery… to substitute-leading the kids ministry class at our church (not my strongest ministry skill) on short notice when the kids pastor got really sick… to a whopper of a 2-day garage sale (run by me and our 8-year old one day because of aforementioned dental surgery)… I’d say it has been a week of the unexpected.

The Unexpected

Some of the unexpected things that happened were amazing and some were… well… challenging. Nothing was horrific. Nothing was completely overwhelming. I mean, in the scope of life and humanity, we have friends who are enduring lots more hardships. And I prayed for and believed for a spectacular result with the garage sale.

It was just a lot of… unexpected. At least on our part.

Phew!

Fortunately, God knows the end from the beginning. So, He is never caught off-guard. He was right there with us every step of the way, working out details so that everything worked.

He blessed us with success and favor and even a lower-than-expected dental bill. So, it’s not that all the unexpected stuff was negative. Someone even unexpectedly came and bought the remaining items at our garage sale and hauled it off so that I didn’t have to.

I love that we have a Heavenly Father who can handle what is unexpected to us because it’s not to Him. That gives me a great sense of peace. It should you, too… because He already knows what this next week holds for you.

Who knows what next week holds? Well, actually He does. And even though we don’t, He’s ready for it.

I’m kind of hoping for a mundane week. But if it’s not, I know we will be just fine as long as we stick with the God for whom all of our breaking stories are old news.
