I just finished watching the inauguration of the 45th President of the United States of America. Just thinking about what a change this means for Donald J. Trump and his family. When he went to bed last night, he was still just a citizen of this nation. Tonight when he goes to bed, he will be the leader of the free world as we know it. That’s quite a dramatic difference. Sure, he and his family have had a couple months to adjust to the idea. Sure they were already used to being in the public eye. But this is a whole new lifestyle for them.
New, Too
The Apostle Paul wrote in II Corinthians 5:1, “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” In other words, one night you go to bed as a sinner destined to split hell wide open… and after accepting Jesus Christ as your Rescuer and Friend, you go to bed the next night as a child of God… royalty… one with new privileges and new responsibilities… one with new power and new potential.
God could do anything in your life today and change the trajectory of your life. You could go to bed tonight seeing yourself… and the world seeing you… in one light. And tomorrow night, you could go to bed seeing yourself and being seen in a completely different light. You could have new potential and new power. You could have new privileges and new responsibilities.
Tomorrow
Last night, he was Donald J. Trump… businessman. Tonight, he is President Donald J. Trump… leader of the free world.
Who will you be tomorrow?
