No Matter What
Recently we have noticed that our youngest son, Austin, has been saying, “Thank the Lord” for anything good that happens. And we love it!
Made it to a new level on the video game? “Thank the Lord!”
Found lint in the dryer screen to help start the burn pile? “Thank the Lord!”
Mama lets him lick the bowl after making some kind of baked goodies? “Thank the Lord!”
We love that he is beginning to recognize in some small way that, like Scripture says, “Every good present and every perfect gift comes from above, from the Father who made the sun, moon, and stars. The Father doesn’t change like the shifting shadows produced by the sun and moon.”
What if I lived more like that? What if you did? What if we all did?
What if, when one of us got a clearance deal at the checkout that was better than we expected, we exclaimed, “Thank the Lord”?
What if, when one of us got an “A” on a test, we exclaimed, “Thank the Lord”?
How different would the world around us become if throughout each day, we all began to declare our belief that God is the giver of good gifts? I say we find out!
Let’s join Austin in those three powerful words… “Thank the Lord!”
