Ok, it’s totally great when you get a Christmas present you asked for… one which you believed you would get because you begged your parents incessantly for it.
But joy escalates to a whole level… a level that leaves you brighter-eyed and drop-jawed… when you get a gift that you never really thought to ask for, but which you love and which your parents knew you would love… because they’re your parents and they know you almost better than you know yourself.
That, my friends, is a moment when Words fumble out of your mouth because you are stunned… and amazed… and overjoyed… and exuberant… and… and… and… “aggggghhhhh!!! This is so phenomenal!!!”
Yeah, it’s like that for a kid when their parent, who loves them deeply and delights in blessing them, gives that kid something special they never thought to ask for. And if we earthly parents… who are soooooooooo far from perfect… give good gifts to our kids that way(yeah, I borrowed thisone from Jesus)… well, how much greater is it when God surprises one of His kids whom He loves and wants to bless?
Maybe you’ve been asking God a lot for something lately. What about trusting Him to give you something good you might not have even thought of yet? Just imagine what He could have in store for you!
Who knows? Maybe you’ll be the next one screaming, “No way! Are you kidding me?! This is awesome!!!”
