Plant Something

A Kids App

Alex came in so excited to tell us about how he was playing on a particular kids app and what he had received. It’s a simple app… if you’re a kid… I’m not & so I can barely understand it. You build an underwater habitat & different marine life are attracted to it.

Simple Game, Deep Lesson

Alex had won two “mystery seeds.” Now, as I understand it from his explanation, you can plant these mystery seeds and they grow to be plants that will help you develop your reef, thus attracting certain desirable aquatic wildlife that you otherwise would not be able to attract without having to spend a huge amount of “sand dollars” or “pearls.”

Alex planted his two mystery seeds and decided to go ahead and invest four pearls to help the one plant develop. Upon that investment, his plant grew quickly and began working its magic. What he accomplished by investing those four pearls in developing that plant would have cost him at least five times as many pearls if he had not made the investment.

Planting Seeds and Investing Pearls

Each day we have the opportunity to plant mystery seeds of blessing  in the lives of others. Each day we can choose to invest our limited pearls in helping those people to develop.

And here’s what I know God’s Word promises… whatever we plant, we are going to harvest. And to the extent we are willing to plant our mystery seeds and invest our pearls, with that same level we will be rewarded in harvest time.

I feel like it’s just been in the last five years that I’ve begun to see some of my mystery seed plantings and pearl investments begin to grow and develop way beyond what I expected at the time. I’m so glad I planted and invested then. And it inspires me to plant and invest now for the future.

I mean, who knows what kind of amazing marine animal might want to live in my habitat if I grow the right plant?!
