Beyond my relationship with God, there is no greater joy or privilege in my life than to be husband to PR31 and dad to our sons. Seriously, I have the best life!
Husband
I love sharing life with my best friend… Angela. The ups, the downs & all the long, flat roads in between are better because I’m not going them alone. Solomon was right when he said that two are better than one. And Moses said that while one could chase a thousand, two could put ten thousand to flight.
I recall George O. Wood saying once, “If you want to go fast, go alone. But if you want to go fast, go together.” My life is no 40-yard dash. It is either a marathon… or more probably a series of sprints over a long period of time, like the Olympic athlete who trains four years to compete in a race… then trains four more years to compete in another race… then trains four more years to compete in another race… then, well you get the picture.
And Angela is there with me every step of the way. I love that I have the privilege of knowing her, loving her, serving her and blessing her. It is one of the great joys of my life.
Dad
If you only knew how many times I prayed and asked the Lord to be allowed the privilege of being a dad, then you might begin to comprehend my deep joy in raising our sons. Many a tear-stained pillow and empty car rides could tell you a tale of the longing in my heart to share the love that I longed to share with kids in our family.
To be granted to miracle twice to be known as “Daddy” is a joy beyond what earthly language can express. Somehow, God paired those two boys with us so & let’s me invest in them, lead them, train them, love them, serve them and bless them.
Some might think those boys are the winners in this deal, but they fail to see life from my point of view. It’s me who gains so much, learns so much, grows so much, laughs so much simply because we are family.
Prayers Answered
God answered my prayers and gave me both an amazing wife and phenomenal kids. I am…
